My review - Quite Filmy, But worth Reading

My First Impression:

Well its a Chetan Bhagat's Novel for which you wait, wait and wait and what you get is a typical Bollywood type story.I am not here describe the summary because I think you all must go through it.The expections for Bhagat's piece is something like Revolution2020.But what Half Girlfriend gives you is a pure Delhi+Bihari story.

Filled With Masala:

Bhagat always say there is no hero in his story, his story is itself the hero. Yes it might be true in case of Revolution 2020, Five point Someone. But here he has a Bollywood masala Hero with a sexy heroine from Delhi, with purani Haweli, Old Mom and everything which will make a good hindi for sure.

A breezy Romance:

The start which he takes is always brilliant, whether be his 2 states or here, Half Girlfriend. The comedy section till the introduction of Hero and Heroine is brilliant. It gives a sense that you stand up and salute. The breakup part is also good. Then those days when you are with your girlfriend only in your dreams starts making you little bore. And from here the book starts disappointing you. But every time in the corner of the page you have that big name CB and you realize oh! I am in it and go through the pages quickly as you also start thinking it's a CB's book.

Not so riveting suspense:

And at the end the suspense breaks. What you a get,the same old story which you and me have seen in Bollywood from decades and decades. Though I am his very big fan and always treats him as my Paaji, I can never be against him. But this doesn't give me what I expect from a masterclass like CB.

Give it a try:

He promises to bring revolution through his writing and in many ways he has done it.But this one is just a story like like any other novels can have. Just think you are watching a Bollywood movie and you will not get disappointed. Passable as a weekend read.
